About Biman Jana Lab
Biman Jana Lab is a Computational Chemistry lab situated in Kolkata, India. We specialize in Molecular Dynamics studies to explore protein folding, function, and hydration. Our research aims to provide insights into the fundamental processes of life at the molecular level. We strive to push the boundaries of scientific knowledge and make a lasting impact on the field of chemistry.
The Team
Prof. Biman Jana
Principal Investigator
Prof. Biman Jana is a leading expert in the field of protein folding and function. He received his Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2010, and then did his post-doctoral research at the University of California, San Diego, and Rice University in the United States. His research interests include protein folding, function and hydration, and antifreeze proteins.
His research has helped to shed light on the molecular mechanisms of how proteins fold and how they interact with water.
Prof. Jana is an active researcher and mentor, and he has trained a number of young scientists who are now pursuing their own research careers. He is a passionate advocate for science education and outreach.
Prof. Biman Jana is a brilliant scientist who is making significant contributions to the field of protein folding and function. He is also a dedicated mentor and educator who is helping to inspire the next generation of scientists.
